Speaking of it, I just realized that Tony and Daniela's visit will be next Tuesday - less than a week away. Ouch. It goes to show how chaotic life has been lately...

Just to let everyone know that there will be tickets available on the door for the CDC Winter Salsa Ball next Sunday - you don't have to buy them in advance.

Thanks!

It looks like I'll be bringing along 4 other people from work on Sunday (to Pasion de Invierno). I probably will end up getting money in advance from them (they seem to think advanced booking is a good idea and there's no need to discourage people from having such ideas). None are super Salsa dancers - some can do Cuban style okay. I made so little effort in getting them to decide to come - it felt ridiculously easy; I think I might have come close to making is seem as if it would be a privilege for them to attend the concert/dance. In any case I hope the event will be popular for everyone's sake including mine.

I noted that if I made a similar sales pitch for the Tony & Daniela Bachata to people at Club Salsa, no one would bother to come. I'm so bad at being enthusiastic about me or my events/aims/messages. Persuasive maybe at intellectual level if I tried but not overwhelmingly glowingly and happily positive and upbeat. Pretty much everyone who has taken lessons with Tony knows that he's great - effective and entertaining, but am I able to convey that to hundreds of people in a person-to-person sales pitch? The answer is no. Perhaps it is best if I let others do the talking while I stay in the background and worry only about logistics (fliers, posters, correspondences and other stuff). Other people like Vish are much better at that sort of thing.
